Shetland Life from December 2011

I'm Tom Morton, and from December I'll be editing Shetland Life, the magazine that celebrates every aspect of life in the Shetland Isles - but not without the occasional thoughtful criticism, humorous aside or, indeed infammatory outburst.

Our special Christmas issue will include a highly controversial article from Shetland Islands Council convener Sandy Cluness (you'll have to wait to find out what it's about!). The return of Rosa Steppanova as a columnist, with a bumper Christmas essay. A new motoring section. An interview with the internationally acclaimed, Shetland-born novelist who is also one of the world's top authorities on Jihadist terrorist groups. The first of a new cartoon series starring Sigurd The Tentative, the Bohemian Viking. And 21 questions for Alistair Buchan, the council's chief executive. As ever, there will be some fascinating historical material and pictures from the past.

Not to mention reviews, features and columns from home and abroad, and the best contemporary photography.

All Shetland life is going to be there. I'm really excited.
